From the time you arrive you will have the opportunity to be part of the entire experience. We invite all of our passengers, as well as their friends and family, to be part of our team. You have the choice of either stepping back and simply watching the entire process of preparing the hot air balloon for inflation and flight, or you can jump right in and be part of the action.

In general, passengers tend to book a week or two in advance---so we recommend that you try to give us as much lead time as possible. The weekend evening flights are the most popular. We think the morning flights are just as beautiful, if not a bit more spectacular, but the hour is early for some people. If you are available to fly during the week or in the morning, our schedule is more open and we can usually accommodate you within a couple of days.

Flights can be scheduled any day of the week. Flights are either at sunrise or a few hours before sunset. This always offers the most favorable flying conditions. Our balloons carry 2 or 3 passengers at a time, but we can accommodate larger groups. Your balloon adventure will last approximately 3 hours, with actual flight time of about 1 hour, followed by a champagne picnic. Reservations are required, but we will do our best to accommodate you on a short notice

Above the Clouds is a full service hot air balloon ride operator flying in the beautiful Lower Hudson Valley. All balloon flights depart from Randall Airport in Middletown, NY. All flights are made wind and weather permitting. We are committed to safe flying and we have a 100% safety record. All pilots are FAA licensed and insured. All equipment is rigorously inspected to keep us looking good and flying safe! We are within an hour of New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Balloon rides are a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, birthday, engagement, anniversary or just because. Flights are guaranteed to be 1/2 hour in length. However, the pilot in command will fly as long as he or she safely can. The pilot in command has the final decision if a flight will take place. Fuel consumption, weather conditions, and landing availability can vary the length of each flight. At the end of the flight all passengers can participate in a champagne celebration with the property owners where ever the balloon lands. Passengers will also receive keepsakes to remember their very special flight.
